Urban Farm (to Table)
Urban Farm (to Table) is a solution that leverages the elementary solar power phenomenon of photosynthesis, allowing individuals to grow their own crops in an urban environment. To optimise the already limited space, this project combines gardening with furniture, specifically designed for balconies and micro gardens. It can be used both with and without the curtain which allows to transform the object to a micro greenhouse and protect crops from wind and birds. It brings the concept of “farm to table” to a personal, micro scale.
More than half of the world’s population already lives in cities, and according to the World Bank, this number is expected to increase to 70% by 2050. As space in cities is limited and private gardens are often inaccessible, balconies are frequently used as alternative green zones.
